Does Google get rights to my data?

Absolutely not. The data you store in Google Apps is yours, and Google claims no rights over it. (see Agreement)

Is my data safe?

Yes. Google's agreement states that they will protect your data to the same standard as their own; their corporate systems run on the same infrastructure as your Gmail. Google also invests a tremendous amount of effort into protecting this infrastructure - read more here and here.

Can we migrate back if we don't like it?

Yes. Google Apps components support industry-standard data interchange protocols, so it's very easy to get data back out of Google Apps. Find out more here

Does Gmail include "corporate" features like resources or delegation?

Yes. Delegation and resource bookings are existing features.

Can we turn off message threading in Gmail's Web interface?

Not today. This can be a problem for users who have a "transactional" approach to their mail - in some instances showing them Gmail's filters and tags makes for a new Gmail fan, otherwise they can be moved to Outlook (with the Google Apps Outlook Connector).

Can we use our existing security systems?

Yes. Google Apps provides several integration paths here, and we have solution that might well address your needs - Access Manager.

Can we continue using Outlook?

Yes. Your users can continue to use Outlook as the client for email, calendar (including free/busy), and contacts. Tasks and shared folders are not supported at this time. Actions within Outlook are mirrored in the Web-based Gmail interface so users can switch between them as they please.

Can I run a part of my business in Gmail and rest in Exchange?

Yes, no problem. Gmail includes email routing and forwarding features that make this work, and Google Apps includes calendar connectors that enable calendar sharing between the two.

Can you really migrate all the Exchange data?

Yes, nearly. Standard migration process includes all email content, calendars, and contacts (including auto-complete lists). Resource bookings and more complex calendar events may need to be re-created manually. Volume-wise, your bandwidth and general Google Apps storage constraints (25GB per mailbox, max message size, etc.) are the only limitations.

We only want use Gmail. Can we turn off other stuff?

Yes. As a domain administrator you have the choice of enabling or disabling individual Google Apps services.
