REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – July 21, 2020 — Hāpara is the winner in two categories of the 2020 Tech & Learning Awards of Excellence: Enterprise category for Student Dashboard and the Enterprise Solution category for the Workspace Sharing is caring initiative.
For more than a decade, empowering student agency has driven the Hāpara mission, even before it was a commonly understood term. Created by educators and led by educators to this day, Hāpara empowers students and teachers to engage in deep, impactful and equitable learning.
About Student Dashboard
Student Dashboard was developed to address the app-fatigue, multi-channel notifications and messages that many students deal with on a daily basis when they move throughout a large number of applications. This can be overwhelming and can result in frustration for students and teachers alike.
The Hāpara Product team worked with educators and students all over the world to understand the challenges they face, and the result was Student Dashboard. It brings together in one place the Hāpara Instructional Suite, G Suite and Google Classroom so students can feel confident about their learning and build critical executive functioning skills. “By providing a single unified interface to scan all this information across their computers and mobile devices, students are now able to stay on top of their school work,” said Nara Chilluvuri, Vice President: Product.
About the Sharing is caring initiative
It began as an idea from a small district in Alberta, Canada: Buffalo Trail Public Schools. They needed more curriculum, and they figured other educators might have the same needs, so they saw a way to get it by teaming up with Hāpara. Teachers thought that maybe by sharing their Workspaces, others would do the same, and the library of curriculum-aligned lessons and projects readily available to all Hāpara educators would drastically expand.
