We are seeking a skilled and experienced Intermediate Backend Engineer. You will work on building and maintaining our cloud native app within a cross-functional agile team. The role will allow frontend and infrastructure exposure if you are interested.
Skills & Requirements
Must-have:
- At least three years of commercial software development experience, with a focus on backend technologies.
- Strong proficiency in at least one backend language such as Go, C# or Java.
- An understanding of software engineering principles and processes.
- Ability to work independently without close supervision.
- Aptitude for continuous self-learning and problem solving.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in an agile software development environment
Nice-to-have:
- Go
- MongoDB or other noSQL databases
- Familiarity with front-end technologies such as React and Typescript.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (particularly GCP) and Terraform
You will have the opportunity to grow your skills and experience with the support of others with years of industry experience. You will work with the latest technologies, collaborating with Product Managers, UX Designers, Software Engineers and Testers to create products that make a positive difference in the lives of teachers and students around the world.

This role is based in Auckland, New Zealand. You must have NZ residency or a valid NZ work permit.
