We are seeking diverse applicants for a senior software engineer role. Degrees and formal qualifications are great, but relevant experience and a proven track record to deliver is more important.

You have the ability to effectively share ideas and receive those of others, collaborate well and enjoy being part of a team.
Skills & Requirements
Must-have:
- Extensive enterprise software engineering experience
- Experience in multiple software technologies, with in-depth understanding of the pros and cons of each technology, and best practices for their use
- Proven track record of working on cloud based and/or large scale systems
- Technical leadership skills
- Experience in an agile software development environment
- The role will be back-end focused, although there can be elements of front-end work depending on your experience
Nice-to-have skills – not essential, but any of the following will be a bonus:
- Cloud platform such as GCP (preferable), AWS or Azure
- Go
- Distributed systems, asynchronous programming, queuing, caching, security
- MongoDB, Redis, ElasticSearch
- Front-end development with React
- DevOps practices, including CI, Jenkins, and Cloud Infrastructure management
- Tools such as Git and Jira
This is a senior level position with significant impact on our overall technology roadmap and strategy. You can expect to also be involved in elements of everything else an expanding software product company with global reach deals with. You will work with the latest technologies, working with Product Managers, UX designers, testers and other software engineers to create products that make a positive difference in the lives of teachers and students around the world.

Our tools help schools make the shift to digital learning by making it easier to view and manage student work in the cloud. We work with Google products such as G Suite, Classroom and Chromebooks, making them more efficient and easier to use in the classroom.
We are headquartered in the US, with sales, business development and marketing based in Chicago, while engineering and R&D is based in Auckland.
