We hear many of you are happy about these July 2024 Hāpara product updates, and we are, too! These updates will make it easier for educators to keep learners focused and engaged. Plus, we’ve released an update for technical administrators that customers and our implementation team have been looking forward to.
Update for educators: Close and block off-task tabs
We don’t want educators to play an endless game of whack-a-mole, constantly spending time closing learners’ tabs. Some learners need extra support to develop their digital citizenship skills, though. That’s why Hāpara Highlights now allows educators to close and also block an off-task website a learner has open. Educators can now block the website for a specified period of time, helping learners stay focused.
How educators can use this for learning:
- Block an off-task tab for the duration of an assessment
- Block a game URL that continues to distract a learner
- Block an off-task tab during an independent class activity
- Block an off-task tab during class presentations
Update for educators and instructional leaders: Hundreds of free resources
We now offer hundreds of open educational resources in Hāpara Workspace! Educators and instructional leaders can access over 800 K-12 resources covering ELA, math and science. Download these resources or add them to Workspaces for lessons, units, projects or courses.

Update for technical administrators: Improved Hāpara Admin Console now available
The new and improved Hāpara Admin Console is now available for all customers. The new design has a more intuitive interface and modern navigation. This makes it even easier to set up teachers and students and manage settings in Hāpara throughout the school year. This update will also make data loading more efficient.

- Configure settings to customize what teachers see in Hāpara.
- Load classes into Hāpara.
- View a summary of the number of active classes, teachers and students in your domain.
