We’re continuing our Teaching with Technology series with Julian Daher with a deep dive into Deep Learning. You can check out Julian’s introduction to Deep Learning here. For the next few weeks, we’ll be taking a closer look at what Deep Learning looks like in Julian’s classroom and across the Ottawa Catholic School Board, with videos breaking down each of the four tenets of Deep Learning – pedagogical practice, leveraging digital, learning environments and global competencies.

In this first deep dive video, Julian shares how Deep Learning pedagogies have shifted the way he teaches French reading comprehension. He also explains how digital tools like Hapara Workspace and Google Read and Write make these shifts possible.

Check out the video to learn more about Deep Learning pedagogical practices from Julian with the help of his amazing Grade 2 and Grade 4 learners!
